Steering wheel shaking violently left to right / Logitech DFGT
Hi,

After playing Assetto Corsa occasionally I bought rfactor 2 as it was discounted but I can't make my steering wheel work.
It shakes left to right, and it also shakes in the game (hands moving left to right with it) so basically I can't even drive straight as it just spins out into the wall when speeding up.
Profiler settings are 100, 0, 0, disable center spring, allow game settings
Game settings are: smoothing 0, car multiplier 100, minimum steering torque 0 (tried values like 1, 2, 10), FF strength 80 (tried 100, 50, -30 etc, behavior may have changed slightly but the problem remains).
Is the game broken or the steering wheel incompatible? I set it up using the startup wizard, but if i select DFGT in the game profiles, some bindings are different (e.g. shifter does not shift but something else) but the shaking remains.
I always thought this used to be a very widely used entry level wheel/pedal combo so maybe there are thousands of other people in the same shoe that can enlighten me how they made it work.
OS is windows 10 but doubt that matters, I found an old profiler version 5.10.127 that I think should be the correct version to use.

p.s. wheel works fine with AC without any special settings. It does have the slight and annoying rattle in idle middle position known for this wheel, but that is not what I meant by shaking which is actually more distance and force.

Welcome to rfactor2. 50% chance you can ever get your wheel to work properly in this game without troubleshooting for hours. Good game once you can make it work, but getting it to work is a pain in the ass if you and could take a lot of time and frustation. Only thing that maybe is worth a shot is to change the car ffb vallue in the setup menu when the track is loaded. You will have to do this everytime if you drive a different car.

Force feedback setting of 100% can cause what you describe. Try cutting the setting back and see if that cures your problem.

It's been a few years now but I drove the Logitech G27 and I know in rF1 I had the problem in some mods and some cars. I don't recall having that problem in rF2 but I may have. As I said it's been a few years since I used the G27.

Hello,

The most common issue, is that the force feedback is reversed with some wheel manufacturers. Where you have Force Feedback strength at 80%, you would have to use the arrows to change it to -80%

On logitech wheels you need to reverse force feedback. -100 should work just fine.

suggestion find someone or ask someone with you wheel for their Logitech profile and settings. My m8 use to have a good 1 for the g25 he gave it to many ppl they all liked it.
Surely ppl are willing to help and share.

Thanks for this mate.
My new Moza R5 set up was awful and I did what you said and it's sorted.

Lemans ultimate has a tick box I think so you can just do it quickly and easily :)
