recommended screen resolution for vive cosmos in VR
Hi there,
not sure what is going on but the screen res that I use to run will not work correctly.
With in the loading menu, the pointer will not line up will what you would like to select, say you want to get to the calibration area top right hand side, buggered if I can get to it, tried other resolutions but getting no where quickly, in fact slowly giving up running in VR, the old version of RF2 worked prefect in VR great screen updates.
I hope some one out there might know what I might have wrong, have been trying to get a new video card for 4 months but in the land of down under we might be the last humans to get anything, also what would be a good card to run RF2, basically it is the only game I do run on this PC, so far have about $10,000AUD in the sim, works perfectly on the large telly, but I know I am faster racing in VR.

Hopefully some one might know an answer.

Cheers all
Paul

In game resolution is not related to VR, it should just be the same ratio as your screen and equal or lower to you screen resolution because the mouse pointer is just a repro of the screen one.

I think the problem with the mouse not being able to reach some parts of the UI happen on ultra wide screens, so select something that 16:9 and see if that helps. The HUD overlay in VR also uses the screen resolution, so I found that a 16:9 resolution brought the HUD nearer the centre and so was easier to see (also, the lower the resolution, the larger the writing).

Its a funny world, thanks for the reply's.
Currently I am just going to give up on the idea that my VR is ever going to work correctly, it did on the old RF2 but the new one for some reason sorry, yes I know that the stupid video card that I have is useless, 1650 super 4 g, like a lot of things finding a good card is near impossible, so with a over 1K VR headset, 10% of the setup, I am now stuck with one screen, VR racing is very cool please do not get me wrong, I love it. If some one was going to build a VR racing sim, what would be the best bang for buck, like I have said before the computer was built before the VR idea.
It went something like this, built a new PC with the best I could get my hands on, Australia really sucks, looking at the specs for the game really was only looking at RF1 and RF2 that was it one purpose nothing else, got a decent video card was overkill for the time.
Ryzen 5 3600X, 32 gig cl16, started at 16 but RF2 at the time used 14.2, then the normal stuff, boring computer bits, looking at the specs for the game everybody said 1650 would be sweet as, so 1650 super happened, nowadays should of saved up more and found that 1080 with 8 g, even finding at the time the 4g 1650S card was pricey and hard, the computer is still by far my fastest rig ever.
Basically asking because of this stupid human malware has made it basically stupid impossible to get good new cards, what video card should I now lower my expectations to to get the VR running.

I have tried lowering video res, really did not help, I stuffed around and basically threw my hands in the air.

Anyway time for racing.
