Can't start up game.

So as the title saids, i can't open the game. When i try to open the game its loads up for a couple of seconds i get a white screen and then it just closes, does anyone have a solution for this problem?

This update is a mess for me too. It loads for me then I get a white screen. For how long they have been working on this new UI?????

Have just had a look in the library on steam and it's downloading workshop items. Hopefully it'll work after that. managed to get the dev version working although it didn't detect my wheel.

Piece of junk, totally excited to see this finally on steam sale and jumped on it to get to play what many claim to be the best sim racer of all time. Ha! It doesnt even start up and run. Nothing works. What total junk! I run ACC, AMS2, P2, all in excellent VR on a 2080ti and 2700x processor. This piece of work won't even launch.

i can't get it to launch. Won't even work with vr, i've got ams2, iracing, acc, p2, and ac and they all work in vr.

Launches to splash screen, flips between black and white screens, then crashes. I might go for a refund.

The problems your are getting are related with the new interface, you can load the game going to Steam and Rfactor2 properties and putting in menu beta the old ui. Try that.

So a few things to try if the game is not starting for you.

If you start the game for the first time and, after the splash screen, you do not get a screen saying "Welcome to rFactor 2" where you are asked to enter your name, there are two things to try:
1. Enable trace logging as described in https://docs.studio-397.com/users-guide/diagnosing-issues-using-logging and run the game again. Send us the log, preferably on our forum at https://forum.studio-397.com/
2. If you suspect it's the new interface causing this, in your steam client, go to "Properties" for rFactor 2, select the "BETAS" tab, and select the "old-ui" option there. Launch the game again, see if that helps and let us know. If everything works fine in the old UI, opt out again (select "None" as beta) and see if it now works for you.

just bought it and the same thing is happening. looks like a lot of the files are corrupted from steam...getting a bunch of these hs_err_pid text docs in rf2 folder.

And obviously try #2 above if it keeps doing this. We're looking into it now.
