G29 Wheel Range / Lock
Hi,

I have to set the wheel rotation in Logitech LGS software to match the wheel range of the car in game, if i leave it at 900 in LGS the car in game has the wheel range of a articulated truck, e.g I have to turn my wheel 360+ degrees to get round a tight-ish corner. I have to keep leaving the game and set the rotation on my wheel to match every car, the car is undriveable if i dont, also I have to do a 3 point turn to get out of the garage if i leave the range at default 900 in LGS this cant be right surely? AC RR3 work fine with 900

Anyone got any ideas ?

Thanks

In your contoller json, it will have this line."Steering wheel maximum rotation from driver":true. , change this to false, also find the line that says "Steering wheel software rotation":false, change that to true, then save and all will be fixed, s397 should have fixed this by now but they havent..

There is a setting called "Vehicle Set" (or similar) inside rF2 that needs ticking and the steering lock should then be correct for all vehicles (I use a G29 and it works fine for me).

I have vehicle set ticked. Still the same problem. I deleted userdata folder and verified files.
click detect controller it finds my G29 loads the profile but the steering range is at 540 for some
reason. I can change stuff in the controller settings in game tried 900 450 etc, but nothing works
if the rotation in LGS is not set exactly the same as the car in game. Tried running rfactor 2 and
LGS in admin mode, still the same.
you need to go into your controller json, read it using note pad, then change it to this, "Steering Wheel Maximum Rotation from Driver":false,
"Steering Wheel Maximum Rotation from Driver#":"Whether to read the steering wheel rotation from the wheel driver, if possible",
"Steering Wheel Range":900,
"Steering Wheel Range#":"Degrees of steering wheel rotation, both visual and physical (if available)",
"Steering Wheel Software Rotation":true,

Can i ask is this JUST the controller JSON and not the G29 Controller JSON in the controller options? As i have changed the control JSON itself however in the controller folder there are also JSONS for all the wheels (if im making sense)

So - as above i have simply changed ONLY the controller JSON not the G29 JSON (as the above doesnt appear in there as ive searched for it... on mine anyway)

Please help - i am missing that file. I have all the Wheel Json's just not a single controller json as i had before

Try deleting the UserData folder in rFactor2, start rf2 and it will remake a fresh UserData
folder, exit Rf2 plug your wheel in start rf2 it should detect your wheel and generate
a Controller.JSON file in UserData\player. If it does not detect your wheel run the rf2.exe
in admin mode.(this method worked for me) hope it helps.
