default car list
I'm thinking of buying this game. But I want to know which cars are default. I MEAN the ones which are NOT DLC OR MODS. Please don't give them, I just want to know the original ones.

Just remember that there are TONS of awesome mods for rFactor 2. You'll rarely run out of content, except for a very few laser-scanned tracks that don't exist in rF2 like Newburgring GP. Other than that you can find content for basically anything.

Thanks for the help. Frankly I'm not into this modding stuff much. Cautious of problems like virus or something. Play most games without mods.

None of these mods are viruses, they're all in the workshop of the game, it's a Steam thing.
Also, none are installers, they're really just a package format that rF2 understands (rfcmp) and they're just extracted to the game's folder.

I can understand being cautious about security (I'm an amateur self-proclaimed security expert myself) but these files are safe.

The beauty of gaming is to MOD the game, and no reputable modder will put a virus in their package. Some modders go back decades, some even turned out to be professional game creators, like Slightly Mad Studios or Reiza Studios.
If it wasn't for modding they'd probably not be here ;-)

You are right, it's probably ok to try them but I being not a gamer really, havent tried them yet. Just today I was googling of AC mods and decided to try them. Unfortunately AC doesn't have a workshop in steam.

After listening to your advice and buying the game I have realized there aren't exactly tons of mods for rF2 as you said. For example searching the workshop for cars like BMW, Mercedes, Ferrari leads to literally A FEW results(not more than 9). And my favorite type of car the "LMP 1" has only ONE example.

I can't believe it...

What examples of BMW, Mercedes and Ferrari do you wish to drive?

For the BMW M6 GT3 there's the Apex Modding MOD.
For the M8 GTE there's the official GTE Pack.
For the M3 GTE there's the enduracers mod (really great car).

For the Ferrari 488, Simtek mod, or the Apex mod for the 458 GT3 - check my video comparing it to real life here ---> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jq6jLn_zdl4

For Mercedes GT3, the official GT3 Pack contains it. Otherwise, the SimTek mod has one.

For LMP1 there's either the official GTE pack, or the URD paid MOD.
But there's also an LMP1 mod circulating around https://drive.google.com/file/d/1DT_eAWGhWNbdQkOip_Pk3_GyFsT994mj/view

OK I checked your suggestions and there are good ones, I couldn't tell what exactly most packages contain because I was running thru them in a hurry and some of them aren't detailed enough. Anyway after all it's my second hour in the game. After a good search it seems there is a number of content but I think I got used to the abundance of stuff in Asetto corsa.

Anyway thanks for all the help :)

Also in the video you linked the HUD was diffirent. How did you change that?
Toquita Sep 14, 2018 @ 1:17pm
That's the replay HUD. Press Esc to go back to the garage, then click on "Standings", then "FullScreen".

And about the content: ISI, who previously owned rFactor 2, had the dumb mentality of creating very few content and leaving most of the work for modders. That was outdated the moment iRacing was launched.

But now under the direction from S397 the game is seeing very good content being put out. It wouldn't surprise me if we see supercars (like the LaFerrari) next year.

OK all fine but one last question, when I open fullscreen replay its outside view. Not onboard like the one in video
Toquita Sep 14, 2018 @ 1:45pm
Press Insert to go back to inside the car.
