I've seen Logitech users say they need to launch the wheel profiler before they launch the game.
When Logitech released the "new" wheel range, every sim title had issues with them. Everyone has reworked the Logitech driver integration to support both old and new Logitech wheels. Except apparently S397. It took Reiza a long time to do it but eventually even they did.
NTU, I'll find a post you can try but it involves editing files manually and I don't even know if it will work in this instance. It was a way of solving problems with wheels rF2 didn't have "profiles" for by essentially creating one with all the hardware information it requires.

See how much of that can benefit you. I don't know if they ever created a config for the G29, if not, it might help you create your own.
Old racing sims and games have no trouble with the G29. DiRT 2, RBR, old NFS games from over 10 years ago, GTR 2, GTR Evo/Race 07, etc etc.. I appreciate you trying to help but if what you're saying is true, classic games wouldn't work.
