I dunno man, I think it stays.
The problem is, I unsubbed something, now I resubbed it and it won't even download.
Honestly, I love the driving in this game, but this system is horrible. I prefer the assetto corsa way, you just paste a folder in and it's done. With this, you have the rfactor launcher, the workshop and manually adding/deleting things through file explorer sometimes, all conflicting with eachother, in some cases. It's a mess imo
Yeah, but I manually deleted folder. Now how to get it to download through workshop?
Doesn't work.
There's probably a way. You can download the file manually anyway, if you really need to
On the top left corner, RIGHT click with your mouse button on rFactor2. A drop down menu will appear, Click on "Properties"
A new popup window will appear labelled rFactor2 properties. Click on the tab called "LOCAL FILES" and then click on the button labelled "VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME CACHE".
Steam will have a look to see what you deleted in the CACHE folder, and start downloading the missing files. Once complete, the workshop will start functioning correctly again.
This is not a pre alpha version and there should be a logical and clear way how to add and remove cars and tracks from withhin the game. Also there should be a very transparent way to select official content without to search in workshop for creators ...
rFactor2 was never designed for Steam, and if we had a choice to stay with the original stand alone version, most people would have. The original getmod system was a great idea from ISI, but the cost issues of hosting the tracks and cars, individuals not implementing the getmod system have brought rFactor2 to Steam which offers FREE hosting for the mods.
On the old system, we just downloaded the rfcmp files, straight from the rFactor2 website and put them into the packages folder.

As for the comment about having to search for the official content, why are you doing that for?
Just use the link for all the official ISI content.
