H-Shifter and clutch
I recently bought Rfactor2 and I wanted to drive with my H-shifter and using my clutch (like in AC), but when I started driving i realised that i didnt need to use the clutch, meaning that I can shifter to any gear at any time without damaging anything. I also realised that I can shift all of the cars with my paddles, even the cars from the 1960s. Is there anyway to fix this?

What exactly is the problem you want to fix.
From your description it appears to be working ok.

I don't want to be able to shift with a h-shifter without the use of a clutch. I don't want to be able to use paddle shifters for a car from the 60s

If you don't want the shifters to change gears, then asign them to do something else, like look left & right for example.
You don't have to use the clutch to change gears but if it's enabled you will need it to start off.

What is the problem? In real car you do not have to clutch for shifting if you do right. :steamhappy:

Disable auto clutch, and if the cars has the H Shifter mode active it, some cars like group c mak corp mod, has an option to enable h shifter if u want in the showroom.

I leave my H-shifter in neutral for cars that require the paddles, and this works for me (G29 + Shifter).

The gearboxes are not realistic yet. Six of one, half dozen of the other. Rather the gearbox shift reliably than model some sort of attempt at realism badly making the gearboxes fake, difficult or useless like iracing.

The Howston (Lola) as well as the historic Formula cars, in real life, used a dog box style gearbox that could be shifted without a clutch. The Howston does employ an odd attempt at forcing methodical clutching or deliberate lift, pause, shift. Any of the other cars like the stock cars, the Dissenter or any more current H-Pattern gearboxes, can be shifted no clutch just like real life.

I think one of the reasons you can use paddles for anything is many wheels have only paddles and no shifter. You'd lose a big chunk of the market forcing shift methods to real methods.

Right now, Reiza (AMS) is the best representation of a manual gearbox and even it is not techniclly 100% correct.
