If you have deleted your vertices , wouldn't you have noticed at the time? I assume you have used Unhide Hidden objects (Alt+H) in both Object and Edit modes. I also assume that your Object is still listed in the Outliner, and it's visibility icons are ON.
Did you try rendering the object?
Select the object there, and in Properties, open the Object Properties tab (orange box). Make sure the Visibility options for Show in Viewports is ON.
It is possible that you have some other object, light or camera in Local view mode - ie other objects are hidden. Press NUM+/ or use the View menu to toggle.
Check the Object Types Visibility icon on the Top Right of the main viewport (eye icon). Make sure you haven't un-ticked Mesh .
On the Viewport Overlays menu (2 circles), Enable Statistics. This will give you useful info for any selection, such as vertex count.
In Object mode, with all the above done, if your object is still invisible, then yes, it does sound like you deleted the geometry - leaving an empty object. However there are many ways to hide an object that you may have found.... but this may just be a reminder to save often, and make sure you know what you are saving. Tip. Use Save As & Incremental save.
