Blender

Steam overlay
I know the default Steam overlay command is shift+tab but it can be changed because in Blender shift+tab does something involving a 'magnet icon' so I changed it to "shift+control+F5" and "control+F4" which works in other Steam overlay enabled games, but it did not in the Blender program.
Does anybody know for sure that Steam overlay does not work in Blender?

My usecase would be to watch Blender tutorials from within Blender in the Steam overlay and then use my main Steam window for other stuff.

Breaks it... Don't use it, turn it off in the Steam Client - Blender - Properties section

There isn't, as far as I know. I don't get pop-ups while in-app.

there isn't any kind of overlay. thanks for that. its not usefull in any kind for this tool. its open source software added to steam, not made for steam in any kind.

Though some free/libre open source software/games work with the steam overlay. One name that comes to mind right now is Teeworlds. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=437846789 ;) So it being Free/Libre Open Source Game has nothing to do with the compatibility of the software with Steam :D

Would be great if this worked... i'm trying to reconfigure my steam controller while working in blender... I've always wanted to fiddle with models from my couch while I watch TV, but trackpad + blender is pretty awful (given the location of the keyboard + trackpad) and mouse + couch is awful, but steam controller presents a nice potential. It works fairly well altering the desktop config, but things like onscreen keyboard, controller HUD, and being able to switch controller profiles based on the type of work you're doing would be awesome.
