Blender

Anyone else planning on using Blender with Unreal Engine 4?
I'm a hobbyist game developer who's currently working on moving from UDK to UE4. Does anyone have any good tips for creating UE4 assets in Blender?

Tons of people use Blender with Unreal Engine 4...Epic donated $10,000 to Blender to help them make Blender work better for Unreal 4...
It's good to know that big companies like Epic see value in open source projects such as Blender and actively support them. If they work with Blender themselves to do modeling for UE4, I'm sure they will also contribute code and such, besides the money.
Iis unreal engine as blender to work and do loads of stuff without the codeing
Shouldnt be a problem at all ^^ I'd go about it in about the same way I would any other 3d software?
Unless you're saying you're new to 3d modelling as a whole?
I am using Blender for UE4. I can't figure out how to export .fbx file with textures.
.fbx files contain geometry and animations. They don't support embedded textures, they only store the UV coords. For each object you have to create a material in UE4 and assign the textures from there.
Thank you

Just make the material in UE4 and add to model...

I have some experience with 3d medelling. I am new to rigging and animation, but there are plenty of tutorials out there for that kind of stuff. I'm more curious about exporting my Blender assets to UE4. Are there any export/import settings I should be aware of? How do I make sure my models come out the size I want to? That kind of stuff.
I use Blender for ~5 years, and I am big fan of this software. I also use 3DS Max in job, but tbh I prefer Blender. At the beginning it's very hard to start, but after few weeks/month you will be totally satisfied.

You can use Blender for UE4 but you must remember basic stuff: units setup, smooth groups which are crucial.
Waaaay ahead of you buddy
There's this awesome plugin made by Lluis Garcia called UE4 Tools for blender. Really helps exporting objects, characters, bone animations with 2 clicks. Plugin also comes with the basic blue guy from unreal engine which i use as a reference to scale my objects and stuff. Its extremely powerful imho and no i have no relation with that guy. Check his youtube channel and see for yourself
