How do I take a screenshot?

I press F12, the normal screenshot button, and it renders my scene, but no screenshot. I want to share a screenshot to the Blender Steam Community. How do I do this?

You will probably have to screen grab it (ShareX or Gyazo) and then save the picture to your hard drive and then go to the Blender community page and click on Screenshots (or Artwork) and then press the button that says 'Upload Your Artwork' or 'Upload Your Screenshot' and then choose the picture and name it and describe it and thats it

You can also rebind the f12 button to another function key, to my knowledge you could rebind it to f4, f5, f6, f7 without problems. The rebinding menu should be under settings>ingame in steam. Hope this helps!

The F12 Screenshot key for Steam is set up in the Steam Client settings

I just use Snip It, it's simple to use...but it's for Win 8 ..sure there are other free screen shot software though.

Change it. My screenshot key is Insert, but in some non-steam games like osu, you can't take screenshots with that key.
