Steam or Standalone?
Ive been using the regular standalone forever and was just wondering is there any cons/pros to using the steam "version" over the standalone.

Blender will eventually update on Steam and you will be forced to update, unless you choose one of the older released from the Beta tab. If you're reliant on ad-dons or some features / workflows that might be changed, you will have to adapt.
You're also limited to only one version on Steam at any time.

On standalone, you can just keep all the versions of Blender you want.

I normally keep one instance Blender 4.2 LTS installed, while i have daily many other versions or daily builds as a portable installation to mess around. Some old as even as of 2.79 due to addon compatibility
