Blender 4.3.2 Crashing
I have been crashing extremely frequently within Blender 4.3.2 and I don't know what the issue is. I've checked my task manager and my memory doesn't seem to be the issue, my drivers are up to date, I don't have unnecessary programs running, I truly don't know what the issue is. I've never seen Blender crash so often, is anyone else having this problem?

Note: A major issue seems to be within render view and rendering an animation is basically impossible.

Unfortunately, Mine has the same problem; the only solution is to use the 4.0 version instead. I hope this helps the problem! :steamhappy:
Check your GPU is compatible with blender and has enough Vram. Blender 4.2+ have EEVEE NEXT which might be the source of the problems. 3.6 and below has compatibility for more GPUs. If all else fails, contact an expert on the Blender help or Donut help discord

Daily builds aren't the most stable version and it varies, my advice it to get better advice from people who know what they're doing in the discords
4.3.2 is crashing a lot for me when opening older certain .blend files I've had from previous projects.

Also I'm following this tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kr22nm2Vvyc and whenever I go into the Shading tab at the top, Blender crashes with no error.

4.0 does not crash for me when I do this.
The Newest builds are unreliable, needs bug fixes. Hopefully 4.4 will be coming out soon. I wish steam would allow you to boot different versions. Just use 4.2 for EEVEE NEXT for now
Hit CTRL-S very often! For some weird reason, blender never crashes on me when I properly save regularly, but god forbid I work 10 minutes without.
Maybe i m superstitious, but it really works for me.

Autosave should remove the need for constant saving. If you do Save a lot, then incremental save is a good idea. Just saving with Ctrl+S is going to cause pain when you realise you have saved over a good file with a bad one. Especially if you don't use autosave.

I guess it works unless you have a slow drive/massive file and you dont want to wait a minuet while doing something. I have an addon that sets a reminder for me.

No offense but your comment is somehow contradictory :D it's true that newest builds might be less reliable than LTS ones for example, so why would you hope for 4.4 to come out soon then? XD
Also, steam allows you to boot different versions. You just need to right click on the Blender app from Steam, open the properties, then go into Beta section and select the version you prefer. It might not a real booting, as it makes you download a few files, but it's really quick, it takes less than 30 secs to do this.
Unless there's an addon that allows you to do so, Steam is the fastest way to achieve that result.

For now, I've stopped crashing. I activated compatibility mode, and set it to GE-Proton9-23 (I really should get that updated, but well. If it ain't broke.)

If you don't want to mess around with custom compatibility tools, just give Steam's own Experimental or older a try, and see if it won't help alleviate your crashing problems.

Just, please be aware, steam will create a new instance of Blender, and any addons or customisations you've made to your installation won't be in the new instance. Which might well be a good thing :P

It'll all be still there in the old (crashing) Blender instance, if you take it off compatibility mode.
