Absolutely not. That moves the 3D cursor to where you click.

Not too sure what exactly you're asking but one of these would help

To move an object origin to where the Cursor is Just;
Left click object, Shift+S, hit "Selection To cursor" on the pie menu.

Or if you wanted to set the origin to where the cursor is just;
Right click, scroll down to set origin, and set origin at 3D cursor
