Does SSD make a difference for Blender?
So, my current setup is a small SSD + large HDD.

I have OS and Blender running from the SSD, while my project files load from a hard drive.

Would it be worth it to buy another SSD for project files as well? I know .blend files would open faster, but is there any benefit other than that? After I open a .blend file I tend to work on it for hours, so the initial load time doesn't bother me much, but I'm wondering if I'm missing out on something by not using an SSD?

I got blender itself installed on a M2 SSD but just like you i keep my blend files, textures and such on normal HDD's. Works fine as most of the stuff is fetched into RAM anyway.
For people that do alot of video editing, working with large strips, putting them on SSD would probably make a bigger difference when it is caching/ fetching.

If you really want to have a very noticeable increase in performance you could run blender from Linux. That version is said to be the most performant due to Linux architecture.
