Did you try Smart UV Wrap as well? Usually the face is the one that Unwraps deformed, not the body. :/

There is the ability to UNwrap using Project from view. You only select the verts you want to unwrap, position the camera and unwrap using the function.

But yeah, I agree, I do not like the Blender UVs, I would like to known if there is an easier way to create UV maps that match existing maps if I select Seam from existing islands.

project from view is still noting perfect by parts like lips the lines are over each other that makes it hard to work.

okay okay okay. Understand that Blenders UV unwrapping is really for simple objects. I don't like them either, as they can't even unwrap a damn sphere normally, but in the real world you should learn how to UV unwrap yourself. Look up a tutorial or something. I know it sounds like a lot of work, but it's an important skill.

make seams and UV unwrap everything how u like

yeah , no, so, problem solved, mostly its just a "not" correct cut line one more on the right part and blender will do it symmetrical, they should fix it and do it better but, i think i can say now, trying a few cuttings... one of this will work.

Its just blender sometimes do it right, sometimes not, can get stressfull.

For guys who still need help, my problem or THE problem with faces (face from human head not from mesh) blender will unwrap it symmetrical, always when i cut out the mouth, belnder will strife, after a new cut line through the chin ( for open up the mouth at unwrap) its still symmetrical, ITS A BIT stupid YEAH, but lookslike NOT IMPOSSIBLE.

Automation is nice, but automation is still a tool to make life easier. Yet, for perfection, manual labor is required. Learn it and benefit from the new skill aquired.

unwrapping is amazing in Blender, I am using it often,so easy to do and it works.
If you are not happy with it, simply use another complementary tool for that task.

Have you applied Ctrl+A and apply rotation and scalingfirst before unwrap it ?

if not,that's the problem.

oh, ok i will try next time, if it not work i have a lot other possible ways to fix it^^, but thanks for the hint.

When I first started, I was getting upset that smart unwrapping started becoming crap when I began working with more complex meshes. Marking seams and unwrapping with precision has become second nature since.

Keep at it, learn steadily, and don't get too frustrated. Blender *SEEMS* clunky at the start, but, even after becoming well acquainted with Maya, I don't think I can work any other way.
