How to move camera?
I'm an idiot. Answer my question so I can maintain my sanity.

a handy trick sometimes is to enter camera view (press numpad 0 to jump to active camera, or ctrl+alt+numpad0 to jump the active camera to you view). then you can check the box "camera follows view" in the properties panel (the one you toggle with the N key), and after that press shift+F to enter fly-mode and move around with WASD (esc exits fly-mode).

this is quite handy when making adjustments to camera placement, as you will literally see what the camera is seeing and can move it around in a natural manner. use scroll to adjust movement speed (and you can see all other controls at the bottom of the window).

just remember to uncheck the "camera follows view" box when done, or you will mess up your camera placement when you start moving the view again.

i am writing this from memory, so i may have refered to some terms incorrectly. hope it helps anyway.
