Blender Crashes After Baking Fluid Sim
Hi all. Got a bit of a weird one. I am baking an exceptionally large domain (1kmx500mx100m) with a resolution of only 160 divisions to create a waterfall in the background.

I have a beefy rig with a 5950x, 64GB of RAM, and an RTX 3090 running the latest version of PopOS, and I am caching the simulation to an external ssd with almost a terabyte of free space. The problem is that as soon as the simulation is done baking Blender crashes and upon reloading the file the simulation may or may not load despite the cache folder being 2 gigs.

Any ideas as to what may be causing this bizarre behaviour? I will try different scene files with different settings in the interim to see if I can recreate it while waiting for help.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

P.S. I am not even coming close to using up half of my RAM during the simulation (which takes less than 10 minutes to complete) so it is not due to a lack of resources and it only started up after running the bake a few times but now it happens every time.

1. Made a new cache folder.
2. Made the inflow and collision objects visible (clicking the eye icon).
3. Turned off compression.
4. And thee most likely culprit is that I deleted all keyframes except 1 for the terrain object, which I stupidly forgot was animated so that I could see how it looked from different angles without changing the camera on a particular frame. DERP

Glad you figured it out, I wouldn't even have known where to start on that one. :)
