This is true. I encountered the same problem. And when to assign new settings for the brushes, Blender freezes

Are we talking v4.3? It certainly saves brush settings with the file here. Both for default brushes & Duplicated versions. No freezing either.

Have you tried checking in Factory Reset mode?

Also consider saving any changes you want to keep for every new file by setting them all up, then using File/Defaults/Save Startup File.

Yes, about 4.3, interesting, probably not everyone has this problem, I’m now comparing 4.2 and 4.3, and in my usual work in version 4.2 there are no such problems. The option with settings for the start file will not solve the problem, since I configure the brushes many times during the work process

Since the way sculpting brushes are changing, you probably would best finish off any work in 4.2 then.

Yes, so far like that
