TGA Models
Hello. I downloaded a TGA model from the internet and been having issues to import this model into .obj, especially because Blender does not report any error, he just does not import the model at all. Anyone knows how to fix this?

PS: I'm new to the software, so please, try to be as clear as possible.

Blender can open .tga files in a variety of ways, as background images, textures, uv textures etc. Although blender isn't a paint program you can do basic painting on .tga files. Open the UV texture window (located in the icon menu next to the view menu). Click on image > open, and choose your .tga file and click open image. Enable image painting by clicking on the 4th icon from the right on the uv window toolbar. Then click View > paint tool. You can then do basic painting on a .tga file.

Is it possible to make a 3D version of it, though? It's a 3D model that I downloaded.

this is an XNA type model. you need this plug in http://johnzero7.deviantart.com/art/XPS-to-Blender-2-7x-Blender-internal-the-easy-way-489500171 by johzero7 in order to import the .mesh.ascii model into Blender versions greater than 2.7x.

The earlier version of the XNA importer does not work in Blender 2.7x or greater if you've downloaded that one and added it to your addons.

Here's proof that it will import using the importer that I just linked you to...

My god, talk about a good tutorial. I'm so glad you found this for me, really. I tried to find many on the google, I guess it wasn't the best place to look for them. I managed to open the model and now I have something to play around with and practice posing. Thanks a lot.
