Unable to export .dae

I upgraded to 4.1.1 or whatever the latest version of Blender is, and ever since I did, I lost the ability to export .dae files completely.

I checked the console for further information and the console reads as follows:

SteamWriterException: Could not open file "C:User\NAME\AppData\Local\Temp\Blender_a18716\untitled.dae" for writing.
errno_t = 2
Collada: No Objects will be exported.
"

I did look in my temp folder which the error is pointing towards and I can't anything with the name Blender in there. I am afraid to just delete my entire temp folder in case it will break my entire PC or my apps.

Any help would be amazing. It is for a game, so I am quite literally stuck at the moment.


To clarify, "untitled.dae" is the name of the file that I was exporting. I didn't it a name. I have tried giving it names but it still doesn't export at all. I spawned the default cube as well to see if I can export models created entirely within Blender, but I got the same message.

Hmm just tried it with an untitled file added cube and monkey and exported selection only to DAE (with both selected)... worked fine and reimport brought back cube and monkey...

i wonder tho..why does it read steam writer exception...try exporting to a different folder than the user folder there is probably some restriction at work there

I tried exporting to my download folder, document folder, and my desktop but it comes back with exactly the same error. This is quite strange. I don't actually know how to solve it.
