Why does the interface in blender suck compared to Maya and 3DS?
Sucky thing is Maya and 3DS isn't free and they are quite costly.

But they are a trillion times easier to use. You can click on a sphere or some object and get a huge list of things all the icons are there easy to access at the top of the screen.

Holding Alt is also so much easier than being forced to hold down a middle mouse button.

Seriously this software is cheap but why so difficult and ugly? copying Maya or 3DS interface should be easy but they never improved on this program.

Big problem is this software was always designed for nerds and pros.

Yeah but this in noway makes Blender look like Maya.

In Maya you have a GUI with all sorts of icons like tons of icons all in a nice perfect order that is user friendly and eye catchy.

There is noway changing the preset in Blender to Maya will ever achieve this.

Funny thing is, Blender has actually received the overhaul you are speaking of. It has in fact been brought more in line with programs like Maya and Max. It used to look like this. http://picup.oliverlamm.de/files/IMG_1191491823_ulore_aol.com.jpg

The problem is you, not the software. Blender's interface is fine. You're just not flexible, not willing to learn and study and that's a death sentence for an artist. Sorry :)

I must agree with the statement above, Blender has come a long way in terms of development and I believe it can only go so far in accordance with the user's expertise with the software.

If you started off using Maya or 3DS Max, Blender will seem quite different and you might feel like it's a bad design. However, it was just designed by people who approached things differently than Autodesk did when creating the software.

Once I used Blender more, I found that it really wasn't that bad once you learned how it works rather than try to make it work like the others. Also, learning the hotkeys makes it even easier and faster to work with Blender.

Blender will always be its own beast. Even if there were some way to skin the UI to make it look superficially like Maya or 3DS Max etc. it still behave like Blender.

The Blender UI is quite nasty looking by default but can be configured to look better than any other 3D program on the market, IMO. Changing the DPI (User Preferences > System > top left of the screen) can help to make icons and text larger and easier on the eyes. You can also make your own theme (which is what I'm doing) or you can find a theme on the Blender Artists forum and tweak it to your taste.

The main point is stick with it and don't let the inital appearance and complexity put you off.

Theres just way more satisfaction knowing how to use a programm made for developers than programms made for users...

Is there preset for Cinema 4D? :3

I've tried using Blender and I just have a hard time with it. I much prefer Cinema 4D. But like the full version of Maya it's expensive.

Yeah I also find Cinema 4D is a trillion times easier to use than Blender.

This is my first time actually going to get a 3D software, I don't have to worry about prices because I can get any software for free.

Blender is fine and easy to use, the only problem comes from new people starting to use it. When you know what you need to know you can make anything really quickly.

IF this is true why then everybody is still using Maya and 3DS?

And you can get those software for free just download the student version. If exporting assets it leaves no indentification that anything was created with a student copy.

And student copies are the full thing now.

They use Maya or 3DS because they are both the most advertised. Reason why there's a price on it too. If Blender wasn't free, I'm sure they would advertise it to sell more copies and at same time ,making it more popular.
