Why do blender models cost money?
I mainly have Source filmmaker and Blender for animating. (gmod next) but I wanted to make a Godzilla animation. (I am a newbie) But when I open up a blender model website they cost money!

Unbelievable capitalism :trolol:

l'm sure there are sites with free models, but they all have license and in best case you need to tell from where u got their models (in credits for example). Some models you can't even use for non-commercial purpose. Depends all on license of an object

3D models cost money because the artists with the skills to make them decide to charge for them sometimes.

If you had the slightest idea of what goes into making a model in Blender you wouldn't even ask that question, you'd know why they cost money.
Just sayin...

There are also a lot of sites with free models, though, you need to search some more. They might be of lesser quality, of course.

The same principle applies to just about anything, why does it cost money to go to a godzilla movie

Depends on where you look for

there are free models available at https://polyhaven.com/ for instance, though it's still a very limited library. I'm sure that if you search far enough on the internet you can get what you need, but the paid versions are probably higher quality

Why would you get paid for your work?

Why don't you make your own? Sure, it's hard but you will have even more possibilities. Take a look at blendswap, there might be some models you could use.
