Report a translation problem
You can also select all vertices that share the same UV "island" by hovering over the UV map and hitting "L" as hellatze says above. This way you can switch through them and see if they overlap neighboring ones. Note that "L" is additive, so make sure none are selected before you do it.
Was so gutted when i spotted the error because i was just about to do the final texture painting. On the bright side seen as i was gonna have to mess with the UV's again, i added some more geometry details i really wanted on it :)
