Bump map w/ micro displacement help {SOLVED}
Hey there, beginner here.

So I have been trying out Blender 2.79 and it has been working great so far. All the features are working as intended.

But recently I tried out a tutorial for a Star Destroyer and this is where the problems started occuring. I followed all the steps mentioned in the video but I cant seem to get the bump map included with the tutorial to work. The texture doesnt appear and pushes out all the edges I am applying the texture to. So far I have not found any solution. Any and all helpis appreciated.

There are a few options, can u provide a screenshot of the viewport, and render please.

At this point im thinking u not connected the nodes correct (cycles)
not enough Bump, or not in the right order (mods)

You have to have a few different things set up correctly for micro displacement to work.

This tutorial should help you figure out which bit you have got wrong :

Yup, that was the issue, I didnt place the nodes in the right order. Thank you forbringing this to my attention :D
