How to set camera settings to be exact same as in the viewport
Even if I set the focal length of the camera to be the same as in the viewport, it still looks like it's way off than how I intend it to be. Is there a way to make the camera look exactly how it renders in the viewport?

Edit: Well, I kind managed to set it right, but it requires the focal length to be over 300mm

You can lock the camera to viewport, but that just adjusts it so that it always points the same way as your viewport.
The viewport camera has 50mm Focal Length and an aspec ratio depending on your 3d views edge lenghts (as the 3d window is adjustable it could be anything from letterbox to widescreen). So technicly if your camera has the same focal lenght and the same image resolution you should get a 1:1 match either in perspective or orthographic mode.
Here's a screenshot of the viewport camera in the N-Menu.

control+alt+numb 0 will set your camera to the exact position of viewport.

It's not the same as the field of view

Sounds like your viewport is in orthographic mode.
If you lock the camera to the viewport and enable passepartout in the camera options, you may have an easier time aligning the camera correctly.
