What is the best program/addon for hard surface retopology?
Hey guys! I want to do a repotology for my hard surface model, but I don't know which program/addon is best for hardsurface retopology. I tried to do it with the basic tools in Blender and it was extremely uncomfortable,I tried 3DCoat but I think this program is more suitable for organic (character) repotology. I've heard a lot about Topogun, but I don't know if it's better than 3DCoat in terms of hard surface retopology. I would be extremely grateful if you could give me some advice:neon_happy:

I can't speak to any other programs, but there is an addon for Blender that I've tried a little.

They are selling it here: https://blendermarket.com/products/retopoflow

However, you can technically get it from here for free: https://github.com/CGCookie/retopoflow

I don't know why it is set up like that, other than if you don't buy it then don't expect them to offer you support - you'll have to figure it out on your own.

I don't know how it compares to the retopology tools in other programs, but I'd recommend trying the addon for free, if you can get it to work. Then if you like it and its better than other programs, I'd recommend buying their addon if you want to and can afford it.

You're welcome. Give it some time and maybe someone can give you a more detailed, or a better answer. I've only used Blender, a tiny bit of Zbrush, and a little bit of Substance Painter. I have only ever done retopology in Blender. So not a lot of help from me, but that retopoflow tool is definately better than the default Blender tools.
