how do I bake new texture?
I was taught this a few years ago and forgot. I had a problem with shadows on my model and fixed it with nodes. I was taught I can use that fixed texture to make vtf's out of by baking. However I tried to bake it and it ruins the texture and says the texture was packed.

I did it before cause I did it with my models hair so I know this is possible. It was the colorless texture and the nodes colored it and baking had the parts the nodes fixed and the new color and was able to save it as a image fil and make it into a vtf.

Blender bakes to the active texture node on each material, so to bake correctly, make a new unconnected texture node with the size you want and have it active on each material, then start the bake.

Yeah I found out what happened. Uv offset. Once I fixed that it baked properly

Yeah I thought I forgot, just turns out it wasn't working properly cause of Uv offset. I just though I was doing something wrong cause blender kept packing the texture instead of making a new image, so my bad XD
