Rendering Problems - The Background Is Black
Hey, I am trying to remove the green screen from a clip. But when I am rendering, the finish product is black, the background is black.

Note: I was trying to follow this vid:

Are you rendering with alpha channel?
I dunno, if that's causing my problems how do I avoid that or disable it?

Are you rendering to PNG?
Sometimes I do use PNG, just to get a finish and complete video, instead of a blank screen. (I usually use AVI, that seems to work for me).

What end result do you want? A white background?

Basically a transparent background.

Well for that you will need to render the scene in PNG, with RGBA selected instead of RGB.

Render settings > film > transparent

Is it actually possible to render to a video container and get straight alpha at all?
Wouldn't this display as black in most players?
I mean, video players wouldn't display an alpha grid as a background but simply show black. You could still composite this video into other footage to replace the 'previously green-now black' background depending on the overlay mode.

That was what I thought, yeah. But I don't know much about working with video files.
