PC goes to sleep while rendering since last Blender update.
Okay so I left my PC to render overnight, and for the second time in a row, it went to sleep WHILE rendering. How do I fix this?

Yeah obviously I will disable my PC's go to sleep settings, however it must be something else. My PC never went to sleep before while using blender.

if your pc goes to sleep and you are going to change the settings so that it no longer goes to sleep why do you assume it will still go to sleep after you change it?

I meant there must be another way to have my PC go to sleep when NOT using blender and NOT have it go to sleep while USING blender. I never said what you claim.

Blender has nothing to do with your PC going to sleep. It's your PC's settings.

I suggested that but it appears that the new blender update included an auto shut down after several hours (for a select few, lucky people). I have only used blender since 2.49 and never experienced this issue, but what do I know?

Might be the last Blender update, might be the last windows update. I don't know.

I've rendered for hundreds of hours and never had my PC fall asleep while blender is running until now. Either way, I'm turning off my PC's auto sleep function for now.

Blender users have requested a random stop function for rendering, for years. Nothing is better than having a big render halted mid way through. I am really pleased they finally released it as a default setting!

I am following blender updates closely, haven't seen anything that there was some power of/ sleep function for the whole PC added.
That stop function is most probably that blender users requested pausing/ resuming rendering which will indeed become a feature of Cycles X, however this should not put the PC to sleep. It is just a pause/ resume button for the render.
