Sculpting switch object function broken blender 2.91?
I cant seem to get the switch object function working in sculpt mode for the latest release. The D key is supposed to activate the switch but nothing happens. The key bind is there for it and set to D and swapping to another button doesnt work. Is it just me and something in my config or are others having this same problem?

I can confirm that D is set as keybind, but doesn't do anything.

Shift rightclick in 3D view like done here, don't work either?

Nope that doesnt work either. Tried deleting my preferences in Appdata and reinstalling blender but its still the same.

I noticed i can't switch between objects with clicking, when Lock Objects mode is enabled when i enter sculpt mode.

Is that supposed to switch between sculpt objects similar to what the little chisel icon does in the outliner? If that is the case, it doesnt work for me either.

Holding D and drawing creates annotations, but toggling D doesn't do anything.

For me switching between objects in sculpt mode is done by using Shift + Right click onto the object. Note that it might be Shift +Left Click depending on wether you got left or right click select active. I am on oldschool right click select mode.

Try shift clicking for the time being.

After loading factory preferences and setting select to right click, this doesnt seem to work either. It just highlights the same object in the outliner

I looked into this, it is a bit weird. This sculpting with multiple objects D-key operator was still in the release notes when 2.91 was in Beta in September, Pablo Vazquez showed the functionality back then. Looking at the now 2.91 Stable release notes, that part with the D-Key operator is gone, yet the keybind is still there.

Either they removed it in favor of the Shift Click thing, or it caused other issues like crashes or is just a bug.

It is a little bit weird and inconsistent for me, it behaves different depending on wether one of the objects is selected, or none at all. If one is selected it will grey out the other object, like it is supposed to do, I hoped it would do the D hotkey in that setting..but 'nope'. In that case only switching from he outliner worked. Anyhow have fun sculpting, fingers crossed that D key switch gets fixed soon.

yea same here but at least its something for now. The D hotkey was working in an alpha i tried a few days ago so its still around in some form. Maybe just got left behind in the rush for the release of 2.91. O well back to blender things
