OpenGL 3.3 error with 4.6 installed
Blender 2.93.4 (latest on Steam) says I need OpenGL 3.3 then crashes. I don't have this issue in 2.91.0.

I have tried to search here and with Google and I can't seem to find anything that helps me. Either I have no idea what people are talking about or they talk about it without ever saying how they resolved it.

Display 1 - AMD Radeon RX 5500
Display 2 - The dedicated graphics on the CPU
CPU is AMD Ryzen 5 5600G
Both are connected via HDMI cables

As I said in the title, OpenGL 4.6 is installed with the video drivers and I have the latest released drivers installed. The issue

I decided to install on Steam so I can keep up with updates easier but I still have my 2.91 installation so I can do what little I do with Blender in it, so this is not a major issue as I know the workaround for it. That said, I am not a technical person so if anyone can tell me what my problem is in layman's terms or an even simpler form using crayons and stick people, I would truly appreciate it!

I can't say for sure, but I have two theories:

1. For whatever reason, Blender is trying to run on the dedicated graphics on the CPU instead of the AMD card, and that doesn't actually have OpenGL 4.6 or 3.3.

2. Could it be possible there is some conflict with 4.6 and it's actually too NEW of a version? Someone else would have to confirm that they can run that version of Blender with OpenGL 4.6 or you'd have to downgrade your drivers to OpenGL 3.3 and test it yourself.

Can it be that you connected your monitor not to your dedicated AMD Radeon RX 5500 graphics card but to integrated one, i.e. connected monitor to motherboard? This cannot explain that 2.91 works though.

Maybe you are using Windows 7? Windows 7 support was dropped in Blender 2.93, but Blender 2.91 and 2.92 still work in Windows 7.

I think it is because of your first scenario. I have two monitors. The main monitor is on the dedicated and is the one I use for games and other things that are heavy on GPU needs. The second monitor is connected to the integrated and I watch Netflix on it while doing other things. The one with the dedicated is the one Blender is on but I guess that because the other is connected that it confuses it somehow.

I will get me a display port cable and connect the second monitor to the dedicated and see if that resolves it.
