try to copy exactly like that, see if that works or not.
also, after seeing that screenshot, yes i would say you dont really need a volumetric light. it might be better for you to add sunflare / god rays effect post edit. but still, try my setting and see if it works or not anyway

In Eevee, I get the normal render, but I'm not seeing any volumetrics coming from my spot lamp I add. I cranked the spot lamp to 10,000W and a customer distance of 500M and still no volumetric effect.

Thank you all for your help on this. Any suggestions on how to add sun rays in post production? I have GIMP and Natron, not sure if it's possible to make sunrays in either of these or not.
You could make a plane with an alpha gradient and position your sun ray manually.

@everyone I ended up getting it to work just now. here's a Screenshot[imgur.com] of it.
Changing the volume bounces from 0 to 12 seemed to do the trick. I know I've tried tweaking this setting before, but for some reason it worked this time. Although, I changed a lot of the colors in various settings so not sure if that played any role in getting it to work.
Anyway, thank you a ton everyone for your help!
