Well, "stuff" doesn't just disappear. Since you say you unhid it, I assume the objects are still there? Are you sure you unhid them correctly? Do you have a screenshot of your collection?

yes i'm sure I hid them correctly, H to hide, alt H to unhide. I just loaded an older save and appended the collection I needed from that one. I dont know why they would unhide in the previous save but not the current one when I haven't done anything to them but whatever. same thing happens to my lights between saves

Maybe you have the collection hidden as well? You can have specific items showing, but if the collection they are in is hidden, that hides all the items in the collections as well.

It's weird, but it happens to me
my meshes randomly disappeared, and I didn't know what should I do
the only thing you have to do is:
Press any key from you keypad for example "1"
shift+A then add an image as background
and whenever your mesh or ... hide randomly, the only thing you have to do is just pressing "1" from the keypad again

maybe its just a bug or something but when you unhide something, click it in the outlier and press. and it still doesn't show I dunno what to do

There are extra buttons there too, that don't show up by default. You can add them back by clicking them in one of the drop down menus at the top of the outliner.

One of them also hides an object from the viewport, but in a different way somehow, because the h and alt+h shorcuts don't turn this one on and off. It could possibly have it's own hotkey combination too, but if so I don't know it.

If I remember correctly, it was the icon that looks like a computer screen. But I might not be remembering it correctly. Just go look through all the buttons you can bring back and see if any are off and/or turn the viewport display of your object back on.

I believe this may have been a bug, just been checking the notes about disappearing objects in the update notes maintenance for the update that just went live.
It would be great to see the outliner.
Make sure all the restriction toggles (from the funnel dropdown menu) are all activated so we could see the status of the objects in question.

If it isn't a bug mabye you accidently restricted selectability so you can't unhide certain items that can't be selected.

Other than that..if it's objects from particle systems ...make sure you are in the framerange of their lifespan so they are definetly spawned and 'alive'.
