oh well...when you fire up an updated version of blender...on the splash screen there is this option to import user preferences from previous versions...
you could also try to copy the config files from the \user\ folder and copy it into its respective directory, as i learnt steam blender keeps the user settings, per version, around in afolder labeled with ther version number...

Not just Steam Blender - any Blender. The settings are under `%APPDATA%\Blender Foundation`. There will be subfolders with the (main) blender version like 2.82, 2.83. You should be able to copy from the old to the new - which is what the splash screen option provides on very first start.

I have a similar issue to which I preferred the 2.7x controls over the 2.83 controls, so what you can do for that is hit CTRL + ALT + U (just open up preferences under the edit tab if you don't want to have to remember that) and under "Keymap" open your drop-down menu bar at the top where it says "industry compatible" or "Blender", and choose "2 7 x" and click the plus sign to the right of the drop-down menu. I am unsure if that restores any of the Auto-depth or not, but you have the option to those things and more when you scroll down.
