Blender Crashes with Normal Maps on AMD GPU Rendering
When using the principled shader, blender will crash when trying to render an image using GPU rendering with an AMD card if any normal maps at all are plugged into the principled shader.

This doesn't seem to be an issue with Vram, because even on the most basic scenes, blender will still crash if any normal map at all is plugged into a principled shader. I am running the latest drivers, possibly not a problem on older drivers.

This did not happen previously, so I assume that blender is not compatible with the latest AMD drivers.

I'm not having any issues running gpu driver 18.5.1 which is the latest non optional driver. If you are on an optional driver, try rolling it back. Also, you can try reinstalling Blender both from steam and from blender.org

Which GPU are you using? Support can vary depending on which card you use. Especially if it's an older card.

I would also try downloading an older version of Blender to see if it's a Blender update that caused the issue.

The GPU is an RX 560 4GB. To my knowledge, the drivers aren't an issue. I'll try installing blender from it's website, that may fix it.
