reduce amount of triangles
i need to reduce the amount of triangles i have on model i have imported to blender.

the OBJ. im working with has 20,000 triangles, i need to bring it down to 5,000 triangles. so i can export it as a FBX.

thanks any help would be great as im new to blender.

There is always decimate, but that totally destroys any symetry in the mesh and totally screws the mesh layout. Other than that, it's a retopal job. (As far as I know.)

That's quite hard to reduce from 20,000 triangle to 5000 triangles,If you don't know how to retopologize ,May be you can try Decimate if your model was build with the right topology,it won't screw your mesh so much.

Anyway you still need to unwrap UV again since the meshes have been changed.

You can use http://www.meshlab.net/ , it's pretty useful.

thanks for the help. but i cant figure out blender its not very user frendily and roblox studio wont let me do what i want to do. you are very limited in it.

again thanks for the help, but this is not for me it causes me too much stress.
