maya viewport controls?
ive used maya on and off for quite some time and im very very used to its controls. i noticed when loading blender it has the options for maya controls. great. but how do you change view ports?

in maya you hit space which brings up a 4 grid view. top, side, front and persp and move you mouse over the view you want to swap to and hit space again.

how does it work? i want to swap to front/side/top but it just seems to be toggling between persp and grid view

Hi, I don't know how to do it the way you want, sorry...

The numpad keys are Blenders shortcut for switching between views, with "Ctrl" held down while selecting to select the opposite side(back rather than front when you press numpad 1 for example).

Blender has a shortcut for pretty much everything, I'm still learning new ones even after a few years.

Use the same progress as you did but change the hotkey.

Space --> Ctrl+Alt+Q sorry but Blender hotkey seems to be complex compare to the other programs ,so you did better search for google instead of trying to figure it out by yourself.

Blender was created from Linux so,Window user would never been able to figure it ouy by themself since they are not familar with Linux system.

i looked into the shortcuts for it in the program and they are just listed as "view numpad", doesnt tell you front/back etc. the controls were listed as "ctrl 1" "ctrl 2" etc but neither using control or not and using the numpad or the numbers along the top of the keyboard didnt yield any results.

i set my own shortcuts to crtl and numpad and they listed as "ctrl numpad 1" which tells me that it was trying to use the numbers along the keyboard. now ive just set it to use numpad without crtl. hopefully that wont conflict with any other hotkeys. its working now. thanks
