Crash while trying to use hair particles
So i'm trying to follow the beginner blenderguru donuts tutorials, pretty sure a big part of you already know what I am talking about so I will go directly to the problem.
I'm trying to add the particles on top of my donut but blender keep crashing.
I tried a test with a different obj (a uv sphere mesh) and magically it doesn't even think to crash anymore, fluid AF.
Tried again with my mesh and still crashes.
I can't figure out why, I am doing the same process I only change the obj of the particles.

Screenshot 1: Sphere, doesn't crash.

Screenshot 2: My mesh, crashes everytime.

Also tried to install blender outside steam but doesnt change anything, I don't know where else to look. Any advice would be precious.

Edit:
The mesh is a cilider, edited with a couple of extruding and scaling, a subdivision and nothing more (it isn't specular since I did the job manually on both sides).

Found out the "problem", I guess it was the subdiver modify. Removed it and now it doesn't crash anymore.

The problem is your computer can't handle that many particles. So it's good to remove the sub mod as it reduce the particles.

I don’t think the problem is my specs since if I go up with the subdivided later when the particles are on the donut I cause no problems at all. Actually I rendered the final image with a subdivided of 5 (both view and render) on the particles in like 1 minute.

particels uses great amout of ram. when hair crahses your blender try using CPU render instead because it uses your Main-Ram.
GPU rendering is limited by the amount of ram stick to your gfx-card
