Blender only gives me a white screen...
Guys, I don't know what's up. I have a HP laptop ( Windows 10) that has a gen 8 i7 processor, 16GB of RAM, 4GB NVIDIA, etc etc etc. I have all of this, but Blender only ever gives me a white screen when I try to launch it. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it three times but nothing seems to work. I've used the version on their website AND the version on Steam. What am I doing wrong?

did u try to install new nvidia drivers ? did Blender work for u before ?

Here try this. Go to https://www.blender.org/download/ and click "macOS, Linux, and other versions"
Select the 64 bit .zip and download that. Extract the folder to your desktop and click and launch the blender.exe file. This does not install Blender and might be a good workaround. Let me know how it works.

It didnt work .-. what do the drivers have to do with it? should I not have installed them?

It didnt work .-. what do the drivers have to do with it? should I not have installed them?

Drivers could cause issues with launching Blender. My only guess of what the issue could be is software related and the drivers are the most likely to cause issues, especiall y if you don't have any.
Go to https://www.geforce.com/geforce-experience/download and download the program. Install it and create an account or use google or whatever you want. Then go to drivers and download the latest driver.

could it have something to do with my display? it said it looked for 441000hz and got 480000hz instead

could it have something to do with my display? it said it looked for 441000hz and got 480000hz instead

That's the processor speed, mine does the same.

If that's 4.8 ghz fpr a laptop processor, that seems like the clock speed is up too high. That could cause instability and heat issues

Alright, thats the i&-8550U and thats the base frequency, so that's normal. I'll keep thinking of things to try, but did you update your gpu driver?

I installed new drivers, yeah, but nothing seems to work. It works on my destop just fine (though the videos I want are rendered in low quality), but it does not work on my laptop

That is the sampling rate and has nothing to do with the CPU - it is audio sample rate.

441000hz = 44.1khz
480000hz = 48khz

You need to change your sound card / audio FROM 48khz TO 44.1khz.

That is the meaning of the error and how to resolve it.

I would have never thought of that. I have no clue how a sound card could prevent Blender from running https://imgur.com/a/4okOb
