The answer to all is always NO. There are already pages to download models, scenarios, textures, materials, etc ...
TF3DM, TurboSquid, etc ...
A workshop full of startup cubes is not helpful enough to be justified.
Such things can be easyly stopped or take few community moderators.
Such idea for blender workshop should be on half way of becoming live. Going all around on other sites ans stuff is not for first convenient. While you download it locate and set up all stuff while you could have easyly 1click insta load it. I feel like the dev dosent care about the money but there is many people trying take that for advantage like custom addons, paying for textures. Thb thats cancer and pollygon has nice approach to it but its not still what it should be.
sry for bad english.
Its one of the reasons but there is more. As I'm not English speaking I don't know how to write other reasons, so right now I'm using Google translator, it's not the best but it helps a lot.
One of the reasons why it would not be a good idea to have a Workshop is basically stealing jobs. To say an example. You put a file in the workshop and after some time someone decides to download it and publish it under his name. I think you will not be happy to see that.
This happens in mods such as Skyrim, which is why they recomend you to upload the mods in NexusMod instead of Steam. In Euro truck Simulator 2 there are many mods (no in steam), when you look for one in particular (for example: about two months ago I searched cars, I found 4 times the same car model, and yes, the car created by one person had been copied, the same without change anything under the name of 3 other people, in the comments people indicating it had been stolen from the original creator). That's why I think it's a bad idea to create a workshop. Already with the ArtWork I see many times the same renders as is the ring and I think it has been stolen but its really by the tutorial of "tutor4u", I made that same ring but I made many changes so that it was not the same.
It's just an example but it's because it has already happened to me that I've been robbed of works, of 3D design (cinema 4D a few years ago) and in programming (programs that I did in Visual, JavaScript, Java, etc ...).
