Back Face Culling
Where do I find the options to turn it on in all three render engines (Eevee, Workbench and Cycles) and have them actually disappear like normal in the 3D Viewer?

I've found it a couple of times (after walking through every flipping property panel), but the faces don't go transparent with glowy wireframe edges like they did in 2.79 after turning it on. They stay opaque and I can't tell if I need to solidify something.

Help?

This is probably what you already found, just double checking.

1. Is the object in object mode.

2. Is the object in edit mode.

3. 3 is the button or menu where the BFC culling option was.

Looks the same to me whether I'm using Evee or Cycles. Are you saying that this BFC just isn't as obvious at first glance as you'd like?

Here's another option: in the button I've pointed at in this screenshot, there is a checkbox called "Face Orientation". When you have it on, the outward faces are the blue ones and the red ones are the ones that would be invisible with BFC on.

Yeah, I saw face orientation too and have been using that, but I like seeing the textures when the model is textured.

I must have a different preference setup in 2.79 on my other computer because I just tried to create a screenshot of what I was talking about on this machine and it's not behaving as I thought it would. (Dag it, the problem of having projects spread all over the place. LOL)

Anyway, just something I'm going to have to get use to in 2.80 I guess until I get changing the preferences down. I do not like this new look, I think the work area is too fuzzy and it is not as clear as it was in Blender render.

But thanks for that Still!

How do I make 2.80 do this with back faces culled out?

Well, that looks like a matcap, right? You can do that in 2.8, but the wireframe doesn't show up in object mode like in your screenshot. The backside of the faces are just invisible.

I got Blender set up for a screenshot of that if you want me to upload it. Its the matcap though, not an actual texture and I thought you were talking about using BFC with a proper texture, which doesn't seem to be possible.

The matcap option is in the same menu where you turn BFC on, at the top just above that preview sphere. Then you can click the sphere to switch the matcap material.

No, I've discovered it's object mode in 2.79, doesn't matter if matcap is on or not or if the shading is set to multilevel or just GLSL or what the Render engine used is. I like that glowy wire mesh so I can actually see if I'm looking at a back face or not.

As I said though, I guess the changes are just what I'm going to have to get use to as I move forward with 2.80. The old best of both worlds thing! LOL
