Glowing objects in two clicks... Or are they?
I am starting to believe I am dealing with a bug here.

When you set the material's Emission to Color, and turn the Bloom on in Eevee it does work, but only in LookDev viewport mod.

It is all cool and stuff, but it is quite useless to have it in vewport, as I - it may seem surprising - would like the glow effect work in the end render, and also in Cycles render, too.

I bet there is a very stupid setup or tickbox so clear to everybody that no one ever mentions it but I would like to know it. Everyone seem to happily use it everywhere, so, please... Tell me the secret.

Thank you!

You have to set up an irradiance volume object and then bake the light.
Edit. To be more precise: Add an irradiance volume object (Shift-A -> Light Probe), make it as big as you need to encompass the emitting object and anything you want to light with it.
Then go to the render settings and under "Indirect Lighting" hit "Bake Indirect Light".

Increase the resolution of the irradiance volume object if the light is too "blocky" (select the object and click on the green "object data" tab). There are other settings like falloff that you can fiddle with.

Or just fake it using a lamp.
