When I try to select a second object, it merely move the 3D cursor to where I clicked. It doesn't matter which mouse button I use or if I have shift, ctrl or alt pressed, it just moves the cursor.
In order to select multiple objects, I have to do it in the outliner.
I can't find the setting in the Keystroke prefs to fix this, everything looks like it is set properly.
I also tuned off anti-aliasing/multisample.
I'm working on a couple of tutorials for importing and exporting models and I've cleared out all configs and addons to demonstrate addon installations from a vanilla version of Blender.
I'm finding that some shortcut keys are being taken over or being conflicted with when I install some addons. (I now believe that this is causing my particular selection problems at any rate.)
Addons don't seem to install as cleanly as they did in previous Blender versions.
For example, I really, really don't like pie menus and I don't turn them on in vanilla.
However one of the addons I use turns them on when installed.
I can't turn them back off, even when I disable them in the addon.
Nor can I find where they are being turned on in the Blender preferences (keysmaps, addons (options when addons are expanded), themes, navigation, interface, etc) so I can turn them off manually.
According to all the preferences I find on Pies, Pie Menus should be deactivated but they activate when I try to use a shortcut key that is suppose to do something else.
I'm not the only one with this problem.
STEAM will not get updates for bugs between the official releases.
your best bet is to move to a daily/nightly build from the official site where most of the bugs that get asked about on steam have already been fixed, you can find them:
https://builder.blender.org/download/
also my pc specs:
Intel Core i3-4130 3.40GHz
8GB RAM
Intel HD Graphics 4400
So my pc is pretty old and not really made for this, but I can't afford to upgrade it and I don't know much about computers.
