Steam Overlay / Blender
Do the two work together but I'm guessing there is no way to be able to have it in blender

What steam overlay are you talking about, screen shot??

It's when you pressed Shift+tab ,have a try mate when you are playing some games.

I think it only works with the games.

Actually, the overlay does engage in blender, but because of all the conflicting shortcut keys between Blender and the Overlay it is not a good Idea to have it turned on. I don't know how many times I've had to restart a project because I pressed Shift-Tab and engaged the overlay and could not get back to the project without exiting Steam (which of course shut down Blender).

i want to use the steam overlay so i can have the fps counter while im modeling but i cant figure out how to get it to work. ive tried launching from steam, and pressing shift+tab. neither work.

shift+tab is the blender shortcut for "snap during transform" so maby that has something to do with it? -- edit-- nope, tried changing the overlay shortcut to control + ` since thats one blender dosnt use, didnt work

Hmmm, My bad, it actually looks like they took the overlay functionality out of the program altogether, I just tried to set it up. I know that worked in earlier versions because I cursed and swore like I use to when I was in the army everytime the overlay engaged. I would lose everything I was working on in the project after the last autosave when it did because I would have to hard close Blender from the task manager to get out of the overlay. I just couldn't find a key combination to get out of the overlay. And don't get me going on the F12 key!

I really think that a disabled overlay is best because of all the function key conflicts it was causing in Blender while in use.
