Are each of the sword parts separate objects?
Do you want to be able to move them all together as one object?
How is it rotated at the moment?
Do you want to apply the current rotation and/or scale to the objects? Beware of applying rotation, as it can make further editing of the mesh a lot more difficult once done(if it's not aligned with one of the axis)!
Thanks.
Yes the last part. its a gun, i made the gun myself but i imported ammo belt, scope and a rail from online. in the scene they where too big and wrong angle. so i quickly rotated and scaled them in object mode.
But when i went in to edit mode i saw that the "transform" info was not zeroed out anymore.
so i went into object mode and did a alt + g/r/s to reset the scale, but then i had to do all the work again.
so my question was if i can apply the current location, scale and rotation to the obejct?
so that if i later want to reset the.. uhm.. rotation if i decide to animate it, i wont need to reasemble the whole gun again.
For others who might need answer, its CTRL+A then choose what u need to apply.
Ha, I don't know why I thought it was a sword... Sorry :D
Yes you can, apart from location. To apply scale and rotation(try not applying rotation for now and see the 2nd bit on parenting first as that may do what you want in a non destructive way) do this :
To the left of the mode select drop down box there is a selection of menu's. Within the "Object" menu of these is "Apply", in this sub menu you can apply whatever you need too.
To make the objects all move as one use parenting. To do this select them all in Object mode. Whichever you want to be the main object of them all(the parent) should be the one that is highlighted in Orange, the others should be a darker red/orange.
Hold "Ctrl" and press "P" then select "Object" from the pop up menu.
When you move the main object(the parent) then all the other objects will move with it, if you select any of the other objects(children) then they will move individually.
The parenting i was experiencing with but i had no idea that there where two different instances of where an object could be.
But, thanks for the good explanation and help once again Chappy! I'll mark this as solved.
