Do most users model with a cube or plane?
Topic. Was curious.

Depends on what I'm modeling, not that I'm very experienced still.

If I'm making an organic shape, I tend to start with a sphere. If I need something mostly cube-shaped, I start with a box.

Exactly as k r i s said,depends on what I am working with.

If it's cloth I am always begin with simple plane.

If not I mostly start with cube.

I modeled a crate using the cube, placed it in UDK, just to see what I can do with it, its whatever your trying to create that descides what you will use

I normally start with a cube, unless it's an organic object, which then I create a shape by ctrl + clicking in edit mode.

What about character modeling? I see some people use cubes, planes or just plain vertices.

I just create verts (starting with the eyes) for character modeling.
