I suppose you can do this with nodes as well? So if i were to group of set nodes, i could have them automatically show on any new object? Sort of how diffuse is srrt on the begining cube you start on?
There is this:
https://sites.google.com/site/aleonserra/home/scripts/matlib-vx
It saves you having to do materials over and over again. Like say you make a material you like, you can save it to the library to be accessed later on. It's not in the default blender addons so its probably not the most stable, but works fine in daily builds I tried out.
Alternatively you can make materials and link append them into the scene your working with if you dont want a full fledged material library.
Just append them to your Start-up and save it! Boom! ShiftA into _> Group and there they are, yay!
