Is the Division 2 worth it? (PC)
Hey there, there's a sale right now for Ubisoft titles, and among them there's The Division 2.

Since i loved the first game a lot, is it worth it to buy The Division 2? it's at 8.30$ with the discounts here, so i wanted to know if the game was alive on PC and if the game was worth it for the price (the base game that is)

Pick the expansion up too. I'd say it's worth it for sure.

What does the expansion bring? And is it any good?

yes it is certainly worth it you will come to find that the division 2 is like 200 times better than the first one

Gameplay-wise, content-wise and especially endgame-wise TD2 is a mostly big step-up from TD1. However, everything else - game world, characters, narrative, story - is a big let down.

For a good sale price, it's worth IMO. But only for sale price. Buy version with WONY.

Really? what are the negative points of TD2?

- instead of a somewhat living (dying) city and humanity in crisis, generic "wasteland" feel
- generic, flat, unlikable characters with absolutely generic dialogue lines
- the way the story is told to you, aka the narrative, sucks
- story sucks (at least until endgame), I haven't felt the curiosity and anticipation on what will happen next that I've felt in TD1, think most people who enjoy TD2 don't give a ♥♥♥♥ about the story. In TD1, I've enjoyed even side quests...
- no sense of accomplishment, no "♥♥♥♥, we made it", no "omg, it's over? :(" moments
- Washington streets feel generic and hmm... too similiar to each other? Too dull? NY had more distinct features and architecture, NY was great to explore... Washington? Meh.

When I've finished the pre-endgame main-story campaign I was like... "that's it?".

So yeah. And many people confirmed they've felt the same. So... get into it for gameplay. Also, Warlords of New York expansion had good reception, gives you new districts to explore.

Same for me... Exactly the same. One of the reasons I uninstalled Division 2 on my system.

I enjoyed Division 1 a lot more but Division 2 feels much more polished. It is filled with quality content. The base game itself will take 50+ hours just for main and side missions. Overall even for 30$ it is a steal.

Stronly recommended. Buy it with WONY.
I'd buy it, and i actually played the free trial, and it's nice.... if i could fix the annoying crashes that is
I played the trial PC D2 version. Pretty much comes across the same as the console version (only with more frames though). Level 40 on PS4 with the Warlords DLC. It's a lot easier game to get into than D1. D1 I have to be actually careful. D2 is more fast and loose playstyle.

Id wait, right now after the last update it is CTD and massive people are saying "same" on most forums and went to YT found a fix but it didnt work and tons are saying the same again, hope its fixed soon

It was fixed yesterday, played all morning and I see my clan is still playing in discord. Perhaps your confusing D2 with D1 cause their was nothing to change yourself it was fixed with a update.

I put 300 hours into the first division game, really tried to love the second one but I just can't.
The entire UI is awfully complicated. I don't like the new hp/armor system and to me there are literally zero skills/abilities that are fun to use. To me, they play a major role in whether the game is fun or not. In the first game, there were many really fun to use skills and most of them were really powerful in their own way. Division 2 has far too many of them, yet none of them feel any fun to me. Also I loved playing a support role in co-op missions. The healing in division 2 just feels very unsatisfying.

The second game has made some improvements. But also took steps back in some regards. I mostly don't enjoy it because the abilities aren't fun which in turn makes the game feel like a simple shooter to me. It doesn't feel like your group consists of players taking different roles. Just seems like everyone is doing the exact same.

I love both games. I've played Division 1 to death. There's nothing for me there anymore.

Division 2 has a MUCH better endgame and much better endgame progression systems (which isn't hard since Div 1 only has the loot grind). I don't know how much you know about it and I don't want to spoil anything but when you finish the campaign everything changes and a good amount of dynamic content gets enabled.

Dark Zone is better in Div 1.

Snowy New York was awesome and I liked it better than DC but I still like DC.

The story is garbage in both games IMO.

Warlords of New York (the Div 2 expansion) is the best storytelling they've done (though still not amazing or anything) and the best boss encounters they've done. It also concludes the cliff hanger at the end of Division 1's campaign.

If you enjoyed the first then it's likely you'll enjoy the second. Get it with the expansion and don't level boost your character on your first play through.
